AGM and Grooming Day

The AGM is being held in conjunction with a grooming day this year! We are keen to get all members along to the meeting. While we know meetings are not usually a lot of fun, this year we are trying something new. After the success of our grooming day in July, we have decided to combine the AGM with a grooming session and social lunch. We have been able to secure the use of a doggie day care facility in Fairfield, which is reasonable central (better than Bulla anyway) and changed the meeting day to a Sunday.

We will start grooming at 10.30, break for lunch (supplied by the club) and the AGM and then continue with more grooming in the afternoon, to finish around 3pm. We hope to see you and your dog(s) along to catch up on the great year of activities we have had and to see what ideas people have for the next year.

When:	Sunday 4th December 10.30am – 3pm

October Bunnings Fundraiser

We will being cooking sausages for the club on the 8th of October at the Keysborough Bunnings (at corner of Cheltenham & Springvale Roads (Melways 88 J8)). Please feel free to come along and buy a sausage or even help cook them. The day is a lot of fun and we make the club a lot of easy money.

Championship Show – 2011

The Scottish Terrier Club of Victoria’s 61^st Championship Show is this coming Saturday the 24^th of September at the State Dogs Centre (KCC Park) in Skye (Melways 128 J12) We have a good number of entries and our judge Ross Hall from New Zealand is looking forward to judging the field. Judging starts at 10.30am and there will be lunch after the show. We hope to see you along (Don’t forget your chair!!) See you there.

Park Walk 2011

On Sunday the 28th of August the Scottie clan will be gathering for our annual walk in the Botanic Gardens. We will be meeting at 10am meet at the Observatory Cafe (Melways 2F K12) for a stroll around the gardens. It is always an impressive sight to see the Scotties together and this popular event is always enjoyed by both the dogs and their humans. We hope to see you all there.

Grooming day 2011

After last years successful Grooming day, we are hosting another Grooming day this year.
How many times have you come home from the groomer with your Scottie looking like a black Westie? Or a shaved rat? Or a mystery terrier?

Did you know you can save the money and the heartache and clip your Scottie yourself?

All you need to do is bring your dog and any grooming tools you have (comb etc) and a plate to share for afternoon tea and the Club will provide the experts for you to learn from (and tea and coffee). We will be demonstrating show grooming and pet clipping, so there will be something for everyone to learn.

Open Show – 2011

This weekend STC Vic will be hosting an Open Show at KCC Park (Melways 128 J12). The Open Show Schedule contains all the information you will need.
When: Sunday the 12^th of June, starting at 10am
Bring: A Chair
Judge: Amy Jonas
The canteen at KCC park will be open, and as there are a number of other shows on at the same time, there will be vendors selling everything you and your dog could ever need, and probable some things you never knew you needed! This is a good opportunity to grab any grooming supplies you might need for the upcoming grooming day (10^th July)

Beach Walk 2011

Our annual beach walk is to be held on Sunday the 4^th of April starting at 2pm. We will meet near Hamption Pier (Melways 76 E8)
There is parking nearby, but it is pay parking, so remember to bring some change. We will have a coffee and cake together after a stroll up and back along the beach. See you then!

Bunnings Fundraiser March 2011

It’s on again! We are cooking sausages at Bunnings Keysborough’s! Last December the club made a couple of hundred dollars and we hope to repeat this lucrative performance again.
Any assistance members can provide will be appreciated, we will be cooking sausages from:

9am to 4pm
on Saturday the 26^nd of March

at corner of Cheltenham & Springvale Roads (Melways 88 J8).

Scottish Breeds Dog Match 2011

The Scottish Breeds Dog Match is run by the Scottish Breeds club at the Geelong Highland Gathering. Judging starts at 10am, so it’s an early start for those of you from Melbourne planning to attend.
Where: Geelong Showgrounds, Breakwater Road, East Geelong (Melways Map 452, Ref E10)
When: Judging starts at 10am
Bring: chair, water etc.

Black and White Match

The Black and White dog match is an annual event between the Scottish Terrier Club and the West Highland White Club. Please join us at the 25^th Berwick Highland Gathering (Akoonah Park, Berwick (Melways 110 H10)) for a fun competition, where the breed with the most wins over all is pronounced the winner of the day.

When: 12^th of February
Time: Lunch from 11.30am
Judging from 1pm
Bring: A plate to share for lunch
