BBQ & LURE RACING, Saturday 17th October 2015 @ 12:00pm
KCC Park, 655 Westerport Hwy, Skye
Come along and enjoy a BBQ lunch at midday before we set the Scotties loose on the Lure Racing course at 1:30pm. For those who have done this before, it is a laugh so be sure to bring your cameras.
The annual Blessing of the Pets is taking place again next Sunday, 4th October 2015 and with our very own Uniting Church Minister, Janice McWhinney, in our Club, all of our Scotties (and any other pets you would like to bring along) are welcome at Janice’s church for the Blessing of the Pets service. It will be held at 10:30am in the the courtyard of the East Kew Uniting Church, 142 Normanby Road, East Kew.
It was a lovely service last year so worth attending if this is of interest to you.
Hope to see a decent turnout of Scotties again this year.
The Royal Botanic Gardens walk is on tomorrow and is always a highlight on our Calendar of Events. We’ll be meeting at 10am at the Observatory Cafe, Birdwood Ave, South Yarra before setting off on the walk. We have two routes planned this year, a shorter route for pups and senior citizens and a longer route for the younger dogs who need to burn off some energy.
We will all finish at the cafe down by the lake where you can purchase a coffee and partake in some sweeties provided by members of the Committee.
Please bring a picnic rug to sit on as the ground will be moist from this week’s rainfall. The forecast is showing a 50% chance of showers but only to 1mm, so, even if it does rain, you won’t get too wet. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
After a record number of entries and finalists, the votes have been counted and the quality of the photos checked by our printer so we are now able to announce who will be gracing the pages of our 2016 calendar. They are:
Zara, George & Clyde Thomson
Bruce & Abby Kay
Angus & Maggie Bradford
Scotch & Dimple Forbes
MacDuff, Ziggy & Poppy James
Ruby & Nessie Campbell

We are finalising the layout and expect the printers to start rolling later this week. We’ll let you know how you can place your orders soon. Congratulations to our winners!
65th CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW, 19th September @ 10:30am
KCC Park, Westernport Highway, Skye
This year marks the 65th Championship Show that our Club has held in its proud 67 year history. To mark such a special occasion, we have contracted international judge, Mrs Gail Dixon of Chatterdale Kennels in the UK. All the detail regarding the Show is included in the STCV Championship Schedule 2015.
The short-listing is complete and the voting has opened. Here is the link to the voting form and remember to choose only five photos (any more than that and your vote will not be counted). Voting closes at midnight 31st July 2015. Good luck to those who’ve made it this far and we can’t wait to see who will be adorning our walls in 2015.
SHEPPARTON JAUNT IN JULY, 19th July @ 11am
Victoria Lake Park, Shepparton
Another one of our regional events for the year, this time it’s a walk around Victoria Lake Park in Shepparton. The meeting spot is the BBQ area just near Cafe on the Lake, 532 Wyndham St, Shepparton at 11am sharp. We’ll set off on a leisurely walk around the lake (1.7km) and finish off back at the cafe where, if you wish, you can purchase and enjoy lunch or refreshments with your fellow Scottie owners. We have invited the West Highland White Terrier Club of Victoria to join us also so please welcome them and their Westies should you see them.
Non-members are welcome at this event.
